34: Why Waiting To Feel Confident Is Holding You Back

Today I'll share a common mental trap when it comes to confidence and why you shouldn't wait to feel confident to take action. I explain why taking action, especially when you're scared, is the most effective way to stop this mental trap and boost your confidence level.

Two false beliefs happen when we don't take action. First, our brain thinks that confidence is a feeling that will "just happen if we wait long enough." Second, we wait for some external reinforcement to make us finally feel confident. Unfortunately, that magical feeling of confidence isn’t going to suddenly appear because confidence is a skill that requires practice!

Waiting for confidence actually takes confidence away from our brains as this relinquishes control to our external environment. Confidence isn't a virtue we are born with. We have to develop confidence with practice. We need to think of confidence as a skill that we can learn daily.
